 Plan now to attend the 22st annual
Beulah Sausage Festival
Three big days! April 4, 5, & 6
Featuring live entertainment, arts and crafts, rides, games and over 3 tons
of sausage! The Festival has moved to the Escambia County Equestrian Center
which has 4,000 bleacher seats and 1,000 floor seats for lawn chair and
blankets. The entire concert area and the crafter area is covered. Bigger
and better--this year there are more than twice as many Midway style rides
and games.

is such a joy - meaty, tender, juicy ribs, with the perfect sauce, time
after time after time. Owner Doug Allen is an alumnus of Dreamland in
Tuscaloosa, Ala., which should be 'nuff said for aficionados. Beulah Land is
a bit of a trip - the western end of Nine Mile Road, across from Coastal
Airport - but the consistent quality of the ribs (especially the
tenderness), makes it stand out. The building might be modest, but the
barbecue is boastful. And the ribs come with white bread - a Southern
tradition that makes sopping up the sauce easy.

Today I enjoyed lunch with my daughter at Beulah Land Bar-B-Q for my first
time. The food was absolutely delicious and I plan to return whenever
possible! I also enjoyed meeting Doug, the manager, and talking with one of
his daughters who is home from college for the summer. It was such a nice,
friendly atmosphere.

Hey Doug!
How are u doing? I’m the guy that was traveling from Orlando, Fl to Ville
Platte, La & I took a chance for some different food traveling on the road.
I was one of the best chances I’ve taken in my life, the food was great. I
left your business & my Aunt call me that was traveling from Louisiana, and
I told her how great the bbq was and I bought another half slab for her & my
uncle. We meet in Mobile, Al and they were taken aback with how tender &
tasteful the meat was. My friend you have a customer for life & hopefully I
will see you in a couple of weeks with friends. Keep up the good work & God

Doug –
Today I was watching the US Open on ESPN when I saw your commercial on TV. When I saw the clip of the ribs over the pit, I knew where I was going for lunch. I called my Dad and we headed up. Just walking in the smell was welcoming and prepared us for what we were about to have. We both had the ribs… Excellent! Absolutely the best ribs in town. Thanks for making us feel like home and for dishing out the best ribs I’ve had in a long time.

I'm just sorry we didn't know about you sooner. I saw a story in the Weekender about your food a few weeks ago and we visited you shortly afterwards. We were not disappointed . . . you met all of our expectations and more! Wonderful BBQ and nice friendly service.

I've eaten at the most reputed barbecue joints in Memphis, Dallas, Austin, Kansas City, and Lexington, NC., but I've never had bbq that tastes more like barbecue than the Q served at Beulah Land!

We picked up some ribs last week and -- OH MY GOSH our houseguests wouldn't shut up about how good your ribs were. Even my picky mother-in-law did not have a comment on how to make them better and that is truly amazing.

We visited your fine establishment last week and were treated royally. Our daughter and son-in-law were with us and John forgot all about his cholesterol after one taste. We were so happy to find find some authentic southern BBQ at Beulah Land on our trip to Destin from Idaho. It was the finest BBQ we've ever had and the warm service and comfortable atmosphere made it all the better. Thanks, for the great southern experience! We will be back!

A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day
by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park. As he
arrived home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast
out and headed home. Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further, and the cat would always beat
him home.
At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past
the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he
thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.
Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?" "Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?" Frustrated, the man answered,
"Put him on the phone. I'm lost and need directions."
