We've made Thursday our day for BBQ and our trip to Sams (we drive over from Pace).
We need a Beulah Land BBQ in Pace! Rod loves good Q, and if you were closer he would wanta go everyday!

I use to drive to or send someone to Mobile at least once a week for ribs before eating at Beulah Land. Just wanted to let everyone know the best ribs are right here in Pensacola at Beulah Land BarBQ. Doug, keep up the good work and best wishes. I'll be seeing you on a weekly basis.

As soon as we smelled the smoke we forgot all about our cholesterol! The BBQ could not have been better! It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We will double up on Lipitor and will return as soon as our cholesterol recovers!

We were hoping to find some authentic southern BBQ on our trip to Key Largo from Michigan. A gentleman at a service station recommend your place and we were not disappointed. The ribs were the best that we've had in years. The warm service and comfortable atmosphere made it even better. Thanks for the great southern experience! We will stop in again when we return in the Fall!

We just found DreamLand two weeks ago and Beulah Land Tuesday. We thought that Beulah Land had the same great ribs and a lot more on the menu. Great food and great people make this a so much better than a fast food stop.

I grew up near a "pig pickin" joint in South Caroline that had a "grafitti wall" where everyone left comments. If Beulah Land had a wall I would scrawl:
No one does Q better than Beulah Land!

We really enjoyed reading the hilarious comments in your guestbook.
Yesterday I had lunch at Beulah Land with my mother. Don't change a thing. Your staff has a wonderful attitude that is seldom seen in restaurants today and the bbq (as Keith said earlier) is awesome.
Now I will be looking for excuses to be lazy and not cook, so I can eat with you. Roll Tide!

I took my preacher to Beulah Land and he described his lunch as "a pork epiphany!" I'm not sure what that means, but I do know that your Q is the best dang smoked BBQ that I've ever had!
Preacher seemed to have an epiphany over the Banana Pudding too.

Doug & Ronnie,
You guys are finally putting Beulah on the map; thanks to good tasting BBQ.
It is great to have quality food right in downtown Beulah. I belong to Heritage Baptist Church and I could never thank Beulah Land BBQ enough for the great food served at the Sportsman Spectacular. The food along with John's great words to live by just can't be beat.
GO AGGIES & ROOOOL Tide!
Beulah is a great place to be; the Sportmen's Spectacular was great; hopefully we can do it again next year. Take care.

My boss said, "Bbq just doesn't taste the same since they quit putting sawdust on the floor."
Last week, I took him to Beulah Land and he said the food reminded him of the old time joints. That's a real compliment coming from him!
Thanks to you and your boss. Come see us again soon

There's nothing like a good rabbit hunt to work up a man's appetite. Last week we picked up a couple of slabs of Beulah Land ribs for lunch. They were about as good as bbq gets — almost as good as smother-fried rabbit!
Wanna have a wild-game night? Here's my cajun friend, Junior Picou's recipe for rabbit. Works for squirrel too!
Smother-fried Rabbit Supreme
Skin, draw, and disjoint the rabbits, cutting them into pieces. Salt and pepper and roll in flour, shaking off the excess. Heat a quarter inch of butter in an iron skillet. Fry the rabbit pieces, turning once to brown both sides. Add more butter as needed. After browning, barely cover the fried pieces with boiling water. Cover the skillet tightly and simmer until the meat is tender—an hour or more—remembering to turn the pieces from time to time and to add more water if needed to prevent scorching on the bottom. Remove the rabbit pieces, drain, and place on a serving platter. Dissolve some flour in a little water and use the paste to thicken the gravy, adding more salt and black pepper if needed. Serve the gravy over the meat, or serve it beside a platter of biscuits and you’ll have a feast fit for a King. I guarantee.
Go rabbit hunting! What this country needs are more rabbit hunters! Take a youngster or maybe even an adult who has never been. (Don't forgot to pick up a sack of ribs at Beulah Land — they will tide you over until the smother-fried rabbit is ready.)
Rooool Tide!!!
Thomas:
Is this the recipe that cajuns use for nutria?
|
Matt:
It's not a cajun recipe unless it starts with, "First, you make a roux..."
